Hello there!
I am currently using the Period over Period comparison in my tables to see the performance of my social media campaigns in terms of CPC and CPL. This feature works okay but, it would be really nice to be able to color code +% in green and -% in red for a better view for the end user on performance.
Is there any update on this feature being added? Weāve developed a dashboard and it would be great to add conditional formatting on the PoP comparisons
Thanks for raising this request! We are collecting more inputs to prioritize this improvement in the next few months.
May I confirm if you have the same goal as Mariem above: able to set conditional formatting for the ā% changeā column in Table with Period-over-Period comparison?
Also, can you share if you only need Single-color formatting for your use-case, or do you need to demonstrate the ā% changeā in a Color scale?
Hi @vu.duong , thanks for following up! Yep itās the same as above that weāre looking for.
What weād like is just single colour formatting ie red if the % change is negative and green if the % change is positive
Thanks!
Following up, I also need this. Is there any update on being able to conditionally format colors based on value? Even a simple āred if negative, blue if positiveā would be very helpful
Thank you for reaching out! While we currently donāt plan to support conditional formatting for Period Comparison directly, I recommend using AQL metrics for this purpose.
With AQL, you can create metrics for period comparisons. These metrics are treated as fields in your visualizations, allowing you to apply Conditional Formatting in data tables or customize colors, data labels, and more in other charts.
This topic is similar to this topic in terms of its subject matter.
I would like an option to set up conditional formatting on relative period-over-period (PoP) columns. This is the most important area where I want to use it.
Weāre actively working on a new feature called Advanced Period Comparison. In a nutshell, itās the point-and-click solution for the AQL writing route which @Theodore has described in the thread above.
Because the period-over-period columns are basically AQL metrics in the visualization, youāll be able to set up conditional formatting and data alerts for them. This solution will also solve other use cases which the current Period Comparison toggle canāt do, such as creating PoP for only specific fields instead of all fields, displaying only % change without showing the previous values, or comparing multiple periods, etc.
Our tentative release timeline is in Q4. Weāll let you know when thereāre new updates.
