[Upcoming] Analyze Changes — investigate why a metric moved, right from your dashboard

Imagine reviewing MoM revenue and spotting a weird drop, but having no easy way to explain it.

You’d need to decide which dimension to break the metric down by, dive into configuration to set up the breakdown, then compare across those dimensions to find where the drop is most concentrated, hoping that points to the cause.

Even worse, the drop might be within the expected range and you’ve spent all that time chasing a false signal.

We’re working on Analyze Changes, a new feature that tells you whether the drop is worth investigating and helps you understand why a metric moved, in just a few clicks. Right-click any data point that looks off and select Analyze increase or Analyze decrease.

Holistics AI then runs a two-step investigation:

  • Checks whether it’s worth looking into — using historical data to determine if the change is statistically unusual, or just normal variance you can ignore.
  • Explains what drove it — breaking down which dimensions, segments, or regions contributed to the movement, and by how much.

You shouldn’t have to file a request or write a query every time a number looks off. With Analyze Changes, the investigation happens right where you’re already working.

This is part of Smart Analysis — our effort to make Holistics an active partner in your data investigation, not just a place to view numbers.

Phase 1 is coming soon. We’ll share more details closer to launch. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts, or any scenarios you’d want to see it handle.
