By default, AML created automatically from query places the query parameter and owner below the defined dimensions and measures - I personally find this counter intuitive, given the other model parameters are placed above them. Any reason why?

Actually, we consider it as a need-improvement from our side, there’s no particular reason for it.
In fact, the position of the code component should be followed the structure in the UI mode.
For now, it will not affect your end results, but this is definitely something that we will improve in the future. Thank you so much for your question.
