Proper totals in visualisations

For the Table and Pie Chart visualisations (maybe there are others) can we please have proper totals that use the correct aggregation for each of the underlying measures (like count distinct)?

The Table visualisation of course has options for Average Row and Sum Row but we rarely use this as it confuses people since it just sums up the output values, but usually at least one of the measures is a count distinct which wouldn’t work for the current options. The Pie Chart visualisation has the same issue when you display the total on the visualisation, it doesn’t use the aggregation of the measure but just sums up the category output.

Hi @jesko

We do have this improvement in our backlog, and we’ll let you know when we’ve drafted a solution for this.

Best,
Huy

Hi @HuyVu , perfect thanks for the update!

Hi @HuyVu , we are very interested in this feature as well.
Do you have an ETA for it ?

In the mean time, i would be interested in a workaround to simply hide totals that don’t make sense with the “Sum Row” agregation (ratios, unique count, cumulative sums, …)

Hi @dacou Thanks for your interest in this feature!

We’re currently evaluating the best approach for implementing proper totals with correct aggregation for Table and Pie Chart visualizations. While it’s not in our immediate Q3 roadmap, we’re actively considering it for Q4 as we plan our feature priorities.

Regarding your question about hiding totals as a workaround, unfortunately, we don’t currently have a way to hide totals that don’t make sense with the “Sum Row” aggregation.

We really appreciate your patience as we enhance our product experience. We’ll make sure to keep you posted on any progress!

Just curious, may I ask why you don’t use Pivot Table for this?
