When I’m working on the dashboard and manage those reports, it is not convenient to manage the layout. For example, I duplicate a report (report A, which is on the top of the dashboard) and it shows up at the bottom. Then I have to manually drag it step by step (multiple drags cuz it is hard to drag it across too many reports if they are large on the screen) to vertically cross the whole dashboard to move it to the top. Is there a way to zoom out the whole dashboard when I drag to easily move it to the place I want with one drag? Or it could be a copy and paste with more flexible operations?
Hi @Siyan_Guo,
Thank you for raising this issue with creating and repositioning the report widget in Dashboard 3.0. I have raised this issue to my team to take note.
Though, I want to be transparent about our development priorities. We’re focusing our development efforts on Holistics 4.0, and will only be maintaining version 3.0 for bug fixes. This means improvements to the widget creation-repositioning experience in 3.0 are unlikely. So I do hope for you understanding.
The good news is that Canvas Dashboards (4.0) offer a significantly improved experience in this area. You might consider migrating your legacy dashboard to Canvas.
I’ve attached a demo video showcasing this. Please let me know if you have any questions.
P.s: Should you be interested in converting your legacy dashboard to canvas, you can do that with just one click. Please see this guide: Converting Legacy Dashboard to Canvas Dashboard.
