[FR] Annotations


From what I understand, the annotation feature used to be present in Holistics in the past. It would be great to see it reintroduced.

A sample scenario that is relevant to our case:

  1. A manager responsible for a team handles a report reflecting that team’s performance. Whenever there is an unusual fluctuation, such as a drop in performance due to key team members falling ill, the manager can leave a comment explaining the situation.

  2. A higher-level manager has access to this and similar reports, and with the help of these comments/annotations they can get a clear picture of the situation without the need of having any additional meetings or conversations with the team managers.
    This feature is also useful when reviewing and comparing historical data.

The Annotation feature was not well-designed in our old version and could not solve complex use cases. That’s why we decided to deprecate it in our new product versions, and put it in our backlog for further research and improvements.
We understand the significance of this feature in your workflow, and wanted to assure you that we are also actively looking into it. However, we are still waiting for more inputs from other customers, to make sure that we don’t miss any edge cases when re-introducing this feature.
