Enable_dashboard_export issue

We recently got a notification from our customers that users were unable to download the embedded dashboards. Previously, they had been able to download them as a PDF, PNG, or excel file, but now all 3 are disabled. When I checked, it seemed like enable_dashboard_export needed to be set to true.

Previously I don’t believe that we needed to have enable_dashboard_export set to true for embed users to be able to download the full report. Is this a new setting? This seems like a change in behavior that we were not expecting. We’re fine with changes like this, but is it possible to be notified so we’re not taken by surprise and our customers are not confused?

Thanks so much!
Anya

Hi @anya.conti,

First off, apologies for the inconvenience this change has caused for you and your customers. You are correct - there is now a new requirement for the enable_dashboard_export setting to be set to true in order to allow export options (PDF, PNG, Excel) in embedded dashboards. This was introduced recently to ensure that users can still hide dashboard headers without disabling the export functionality.

We understand that unexpected changes can be disruptive, and we appreciate your feedback. Moving forward, we’re working on improving our communications so that these kinds of updates are clearly communicated ahead of time.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and please let us know if you have any other questions or need assistance updating your settings.
