Hello! We’re extremely excited for the option to have drill-throughs available in canvas dashboards soon, but we’ve got some questions about how this will work, especially in regards to our embed workflow.
Because holistics drill-throughs are a whole separate dashboard, we’re wondering how that will work with embed permissions. Once users click to drill into something, will our application have the opportunity to somehow pass in new permissions for the second dashboard? Will the permissions be inherited from the original dashboard?
Follow-up: we did confirm that a drill-through on non-canvas dashboards inherit permissions for embedding, so just confirming that canvas dashboards will work the same?

Yes, when you perform a drill-through to a target dashboard, it inherits the permission settings of your source embedded dashboard, whether it’s a canvas dashboard or a legacy one.
