# SOP on Development

Just curious what folks are using for a development environment setup when working with holistics. For example I just got a great piece on info I’d like to test re: user rights but obviously I dont want to try it in production and potentially block some of our customers from accessing their data. I’m thinking clone the dataset and dashboards but that’d be a PITA if I had to do it everytime. Any tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @sm_mk,

Not sure if something like [Preview Reporting before Deployment](https://community.holistics.io/t/upcoming-preview-reporting-before-deployment/994) helps?

But you have to be using our version 4.0 (As-code) if you want to use this feature.
