# \[Launched\] Light & Dark mode dashboard theme 🎨

Hey everyone!

When dark mode launched, some of you asked: why doesn’t my dashboard theme change when I toggle between light and dark mode? This update is for you.

### ✨ What’s new

Each viewer sees Holistics in either `light` or `dark` mode, depending on their [account setting](https://docs.holistics.io/docs/account-setting#switch-to-lightdark-mode). When you assign a theme to a dashboard, you choose whether that setting changes what they see:

- **One theme for both modes:** Everyone sees the same theme, regardless of their app mode.
- `new` **A theme per mode:** Each viewer gets the theme matching their mode.

### ℹ Disclaimer

Currently, this feature is supported for dashboards in **internal analytics** only.  
We’ll extend this for embedding customer in another phase.
